When I was teaching Home Economics I had the opportunity to work closely with the Art Department in my school. When I retired, this gave me the incentive to take several Art courses with local artists. One teacher suggested I applied to The Broadstone Art Society and I was delighted to be accepted as a member in 2007.
I am particularly interested in using charcoal and pastel. I find these mediums exciting to use , especially with still life and flower paintings.
Through my interest in Astronomy, and using acrylics inks and paint, I have produced a series of "Space" paintings displaying the Cosmos and various Nebula. In 2010 1 was honoured to receive The Heatley Rose Bowl and have had my painting 'Witches Nebula' on the BAS Exhibition poster.
