I have been painting for a number of years since I first joined a 'Learning Through Observation' leisure course tutored by Penny Balding. This was the start of several years of further art education culminating in the final stage of City & Guilds Level III art exams.
The course was challenging but rewarding and the syllabus covered a variety of approaches and skills which advanced my knowledge and increased my enjoyment and skills from then onwards.
About four years ago I became a member of the Broadstone Art Society. I enjoy meeting with other artists and joining in with the many different opportunities available to continue learning and to develop my skills still further.
My main choice of media is acrylic. I enjoy experimental art, colour, mixed media and collage. I have been inspired by the use of music as an inspiration with regard to art which resulted in a journey of experimentation and exploration.
'Floral Collage' was a piece of work which was done when I revisited some earlier paintings of mine and I was inspired to create a mixed media piece of work.
