Krystyna trained at Chelsea School of Art and received a BA Honours Degree from Reading University. This was followed with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (Fine Art), also from Reading University.
Trained as both a figurative and an abstract artist, she continues to work in both these disciplines.
As a figurative painter, Krystyna delights in painting the wild, elusive hares she observes in the Dorset countryside. However, on observing their antics she gives her hares individual identities and sometimes she extends this to the idea of imagined anthropomorphic lives.
Her rich, multi-layered abstract and semi-abstract works are informed by nature, folk-lore and popular culture. Here she exuberantly celebrates colour, shape and rhythm. In these works she marries together a variety of techniques including collage, printing and painting.
She also creates collagraphs and mono-prints using a traditional flat-bed printing press and in addition works with photography.
Krystyna is a member of Dorset Visual Arts and takes part in Dorset Art Weeks Open Studio events. She exhibits regularly across the South and is a member of East Dorset Group of Artists, Southern Contemporaries and Bournemouth Art Club among other arts organisations.
Krystyna was awarded Artist of the Year 2005 in her category (Abstract) from the Society of All Artists. She teaches painting and has work in many private collections in the UK, USA and in a Public UK Collection.
