Dawn was encouraged to paint and draw from the age of four, with her older sisters, on the paper lined nursery wall and where their father painted friezes, they are all painting into their eighties.
Studied and taught 'A' Level Art in Public and State Schools also Adult Education centres.

Commissioned designed and had painted two First Day Covers; design for a limited edition of ashtrays by Furstenberg , Germany; Sailing Trophy Plate by Poole Pottery; Wedgewood intended to produce six designs for ashtrays and Figurines (abandoned due to fire); Neptune design for Officers' Mess Silver; book illustrations; magazine cover; mural for restaurant, Poole Ferry Terminal; personalised Christmas cards; Portraiture of children, adults, life also horses, dogs; seascapes; landscapes; buildings etcetera.
